We are extremely pleased to announce that our first ever Bamfield Family Film Festival will take place on Saturday January 27, in celebration of Family Literacy Day!

From 2:00-6:00pm, we will show a selection of short animated films featuring folklore from around the world. From 6pm onward we will show a feature length film, ending around 8pm. Stay tuned for the full schedule!

This event is FREE and offers popcorn & refreshments, chili dogs at dinner time, and activities between the blocks of film, as well as a Family Literacy Day-themed door prize. Attendees may consider making a donation to our chosen charity, UNICEF, in support of the many children and their families currently suffering in Gaza.

All are welcome, kiddos 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult 🙂

This Sunday, join us at the Bamfield Community School to complete the two-part online Canadian Red Cross Psychological First Aid Courses in a community of learners, with pizza and interesting conversations to fuel us!

In the “Self-Care” course, we will learn strategies for taking care of ourselves – our thoughts, feelings and emotions when experiencing stress, crisis or trauma.

In the “Care for Others” course, we will learn how to recognize when a person is in distress, and how to offer non-judgemental support for family, friends and community when they are having difficulty coping.

For more information, check out the Red Cross website: https://www.redcross.ca/…/cours…/psychological-first-aid

Although we still have yoga every Wednesday as per usual, we tried something new with our Monday Night Adult Sports this season! Rather than a dodgeball league, we have mixed it up by offering different Drop-in sports, such as volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton, and even an opportunity to dance and play with flo-toys! Check out the schedule below.

We are so pleased to offer the BCSA’s much beloved cooking classes after a several year hiatus! Thanks to the Bamfield Volunteer Fire Department, who have been generous enough to lend us their considerable kitchen space, we have been able to host 3 talented local cooks. We hope to revive this series again in the Spring!
